Children don’t need to rely on sugary treats, grains and carb loaded snacks for their energy. Children need fats, nutrients, vitamins and minerals to supply their growing brains and bodies.

Low Carb Family foods are all about eating delicious nutrient dense meals and snacks. Simplifying our family foods by eating predominantly; fish, meats, vegetables, salads, low sugar fruit, seeds, nuts and healthy fats. Low carb foods are simple foods.

Move naturally to a lower carbohydrate diet for children by removing processed (pasta), sugary (cereals) and carbohydrate heavy (crisps, snack bars) junk food from children’s diets. Replace these products with carbohydrates from real foods; vegetables, seeds, nuts, dairy and berries. Children will then be eating more natural foods that supply them with diverse vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants.

Preparing low carb meals and snack may well take more time from our busy lives. Cooking real foods and eating together as a family is a great pleasure, mealtimes together connect families and teach invaluable life skills, that our children will be able to share with their own families in time.
